Ki Residences, a new 999-year leasehold development is richly inspired by the Japanese concept of “ki” which is centered on life and living in a harmonious state with people, nature, and its surroundings. This new development replaces the previous Brookvale Park after it was enbloc’ed in 2018 for $530 million. The sale price of $530 million reflects a land rate of about $932 per sq ft per plot ratio, after factoring in an estimated development charge of about $26 million.
Sunway and Hoi Hup had no hesitation in closing the sale. “This site is like an unpolished gem and we were able to see something of value when others didn’t,” says Koon Wai Leong, general manager of Hoi Hup Realty.
Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, the developers weaved the theme of an ensō circle, symbolizing enlightenment and strength, into the grounds of the development. For instance, the arrival area at Ki Residences is circular in shape, made of materials such as timber and stone. The condo’s clubhouse is also round, enveloping a conserved ficus tree at its center, which used to stand behind the main entrance of the former Brookvale Park.
